Eve teasing is a problem every woman in this world faces... I am not saying only India because somewhere it is about mentality and that is same for men all over the world.
Quite a times I have felt smothered by the feeling of helplessness and a few times I have taken action against it. But even then I believe the effort is futile because though these men quickly don the protective gear when the woman at the recieving end is known to them... they don't mind doing so to the unknowns... what kind of thinking is that?
And it always brings me to the feminist question of why is it always against the female sex? What has sexuality got to do with this? I agree men are also targeted but why women in particular?
Is it because they are vulnerable?
Or is is because these men think they can get away with this?
Another question that baffles me is how every woman is targeted.. be it a child, a teenager or even a married woman? Do these men never think about the consequences?
Having slapped a few myself I do not understand what kind of cheap thrills do they get in situations like this?
Do they feel remorse?
Are women only commodities to them... objects... just for pleasure?
And you may surely call me a feminist but I do not believe that women cannot stand up for this explotation or that they bring upon such situations on themselves....
A strict no to that!
It is I believe lies in the fact that the whole scenario is innocently called Eve teasing where all Adams believe that it is birthright to do so!
